The sun shown brightly over the Reind Meadow, and the still-green grass gently swayed in the breeze. The she-wolf sat with her nose pointed to the sky, watching the clouds drift lazily over her. It had finally gotten deep enough in the season where the sun caused her to be uncomfortable in her own pelt, but she didn't let that chase away her good spirit. She 'smiled' at the thought of the flowers that would soon come with the much needed rain.
Swelek yawned, sucuming to the tierdness the sun brought. She tried to keep her head up as the breeze picked up, causing a few birds to take off from the field. The she-wolf stood and stretched in hopes of keeping herself active, but she knew that she wouldn't make it through the day without at least a short nap. Her smile widened at that thought.

Kruuen's jaws parted slightly as he drank in the scents of the forest. His eye's darted around him, embracing his surroundings. The sun was just peeking through over the horizon, as the heat of the day began to increase. It hadn't rained for quite a few days now, so the Ventura leader knew that Spring was here. His gray nose nosed the soft, swaying grass as he caught the scent of another wolf in his pack. Picking his head up, Kruuen glanced around once more for the animal that he was smelling.
Huffing, Kruuen caught a glimpse of Swelek, one of the she - wolves of his pack. Morning, Swelek. he called as he pranced over to the she - wolf. Kruuen was naturally a charmer, but he had never actually found someone special to love. He's always just gone about his life without knowing what to do with himself. Yes, he was leader, but what about other than his duties as leader? Kruuen had never actually considered that thought...

Swelek's ears turned to the sound of the approaching wolf, and she quickly recognized the scent. She turned to her leader and bowed her head in respect, an old tradition that she still went by. "Good morning Kruuen." she responded. The she-wolf admired the younger male and his ability to keep things so well under control. She knew the position wasn't the easiest, especially with current troubles.
But for now there was peace, and that was just what every one needed. As a cloud moved in front of the sun, a thought crossed her mind. "Up for an early hunt? The deer'll just be getting up." She smiled somewhat mischievously. It had been a few days since she had felt the thrill of the chase, and the accomplishment of bringing down something much larger than her. That, and the pack needed to be fed so they were strong for the rest of the day. As if on cue, her own stomach growled a little. She flattened her ears and looked away a little in embarrassment.
((I understand, I'm the same way -.-; Not at all, go right ahead. =D))

Ambrosia awoke with the sun gleaming down on her fur. Her tail was still wrapped around her slim frame, shielding her amber eyes from the hot rays. She lifted her tail and wagged it slightly, rising and taking a long stretch. Despite the fact that it had been nearly impossible for her to fall asleep that night, she had slept wonderfully.
Hearing her stomach growl reminded her of her exciting hunt the day before. Her ears perked up at the thought of hunting, her new found hobby. She had hunted all her life, but recently she had turned it into a game, competing against herself to see on which day she could get the biggest catch.
She walked slowly out of her little den, feeling the breeze rustle her fur. Wandering in the direction of the forest, she sniffed around, her snout lowered to the ground in search of the scent of her next meal. She lifted her head when she heard familiar voices, other pack members. In front of her stood the leader, Kruuen, and she-wolf, Swelek. She smiled, happy to see familiar faces. She barked playfully at them, bowing in their direction.

Kruuen smiled slightly as Swelek bowed before him. The male still hadn't quite gotten used to the fact that he was their leader, and they respected him. Kruuen's ears twitched as he glanced sideways at Swelek.A hunt, huh? he thought to himself. It sounded nice, considering he hasn't gone hunting in quite a while now. The leader nodded half to himself and half to Swelek as he heard a small bark from in front of him.
He turned his head at an angle to see Ambrosia, bowing to them. Good morning, Ambrosia. he barked to the other female. Care to join Swelek and I on a little early hunting trip? he asked as his gray tail swished behind him.
A small burst of wind rushed from behind them, making his gray and black mixed pelt ruffle. The heat often got to his thick, heavy pelt during the spring and summer. But however, since it was the early morning, it was not as hot as it would be around noon and on until night fell once again.
Kruuen's own stomach rumbled with hunger at the thought of a fresh caught deer to snack on. Lately the prey haven't been coming out as often, but there was still enough to go around for now. However, there is still nothing to worry about in his pack so far this spring. They haven't been threatened by any other back, and not even the Pareil. Kruuen was very thankful for that.

Ears perked at the word hunt, Ambrosia smiled softly and wagged her bushy black tail behind her. She took a moment to observe both Kruuen and Swelek. It had been ages since she had hunted with another wolf, and she was anxious to do so. She would try and break her own personal record. She knew it seemed childish; she didn't get much out of beating herself at her own game, but it was a way for her to add some flavor to the bland, sometimes mundane life of a wolf.
Ambrosia could feel her stomach growling, remembering that she hadn't eaten since the afternoon before. She was glad she wouldn't be hunting alone again like yesterday, for she was begining to feel lonely. Bowing her head once more, she looked up and smiled at Kruuen. "Coincidentally, I was just on my way to do some hunting. I'd love to join you." She said, relieved to have some company.

The dark she-wolf smiled, ready to get started. She lifted her muzzle to the breeze, detecting the faint yet musky smell of deer. "Should we head toward the forest? it smells like they're still there." she asked, knowing that they could also cut them off as they left the woods for the river. She wasn't surprised, however, that they were still in the protection of the trees. She could already feel it was going to be a hot day, and the trees provided a safe, cool spot to bed.
She quietly recalled her first deer, one she had taken down herself. It was a day much like today, but toward the evening. It was an old doe, the easiest of the heard to get. She had to track it foe several hours and attack it multiple times in order to finally take it down. She knew that wouldn't happen today with three strong wolves.

It was just another Spring day for the wolf. He wasn't expecting much out of today - after all, everyone was just going about their business as usual. Nothing was out of the ordinary - even the weather seemed to be amicable enough. Under the bright midday sun, Senri's golden-orange pelt glinted like the sunrise, not helping him at all with blending in to his lush green surroundings. He must have stood out like a sore paw. The only time he was ever the same color as the vegetation here was in late Fall, when the grass was turning that brittle yellow color. Even then, the dashes of grey in his pelt gave him away, and he didn't know grass to ever turn grey.
His younger brother Husky was in an unknown location, most likely out exploring himself or something. Senri knew he preferred to be alone. Nana was helping the elders, and Cooro had gone out by the river to play. He wasn't too far from here, actually. But that had left the oldest of the siblings by himself in the camp, staring out blankly at the forest for a bit before he rose and loped off towards the meadow with the intention of hunting.
He didn't tell a single soul - couldn't have, probably. Anyway, no one took notice when he went anywhere. He spoke so little that no one typically noticed whether he was there or not.
Up ahead, he spotted a small group of wolves he recognized, and he paused for a second before continuing on silently, approaching them. As he drew nearer, he was able to make out the telltale shapes of, firstly, Kruuen, their noble leader. Secondly, there was Ambrosia, the she-wolf, and then Swelek, another she-wolf he didn't know too well. They looked like they were preparing for a hunt, and a friendly, gentle hint of a smile curved the corners of his maw as he went up to them. The eyepatch that covered his marred right eye left him blind on one side, but he had long managed to work perfectly with that, and as he joined the small group he said not a word, but swished his tail in greeting, offering a bow to Kruuen in respect.
No words needed to be said. He would follow along with them on their hunt, glad to be part of a group effort.

Without hesitation, Ambrosia lowered her ears, tail, and limbs, bringing herself closer to the ground. As she readied herself to hunt, she glanced over at Kruuen and Swelek, happy to have someone to hunt with. Her tail swayed slightly, as she headed towards the trees.
Feeling herself jump, Ambrosia let out a small yelp. Turning around with her teeth bared, she quickly put her tail between her legs, completely embarrassed. She lowered her head and closed her eyes. She had completely over reacted, seeing as it was only Senri coming up behind her. She smiled slightly at him. "I'm so sorry, I..." She couldn't get a grip today. She felt her muscles tense up at the slightest movement or noise.
