As she is still a puppy, Lei has very few of the traits that will mark her when she becomes a full-grown German Shepherd. Right now, she still maintains the same cute, fluffy look that all puppies have.
Lei, being a German Shepherd, has the characteristic tan and black markings on her fur. Her muzzle is primarily black, with some tan dashes around her keen dark eyes and lacing by her cheeks. Her ears, erect as they will be when she's grown except for the very tips, which are still yet folded down because she hasn't finished growing yet, are brown mostly with dashes of black. Her throat, parts of her chest, legs, and belly are all brown, leading down to a tan-white color at her belly fur. Her sides and back, and tail remain black.

Like all puppies, Lei is very very innocent and impressionable. All she knows of life that her mother and father vanished, and she doesn't know where her brothers are. At the very start, she's frightened and lost, and just wants a place to stay where there's food. She's old enough to eat fresh prey, but can't handle large amounts at a time.
However, there are certain traits of her that show even at this young age. For one, Lei is very proud. This is her main personality trait that shines through. She's proud of herself - she would never lack self-confidence - and she is mostly proud of her family. When she's accepted into the Pareil pack, she will be exceptionally proud of them too. This pride of hers will often be a problem when she grows older, as it will blind her to other aspects of life and other canines' opinions. Secondly, even now, Lei is never shy. She is a bold german shepherd who never hesitates to get to know new friends or leap right into the face of danger. Right now, she views this all as a test of her skill, which she wants to prove, but later on in life she will see it as her duty to give herself for the pack.
The main noticeable thing about Lei when she grows up will be her undying loyalty to the Pareil pack and everything it stands for. As will be revealed in the roleplay, the Pareil pack takes her in and cares for her, and gives her a new home. Because of this, Lei doesn't think she has the right to question her leaders, and she believes she owes them her life for saving her. She can see no wrong in the Pareil pack, to the point where she will stubbornly refuse to acknowledge anything that goes wrong in the pack - any corruption, any wickedness, she turns a blind eye to, because she has no right to question.
She's very proud of her pack, and though she isn't a bad canine at heart, she would give her life and soul for Keina and Sho.
H I S T O R Y ---
There isn't a whole lot to Lei's history, since she's only seven years old, but there's a lot of family background that goes into making who she is and who she will be as a canine of the Pareil.
What she knows from the tales her mother told her is that all her ancestors used to be police dogs when the humans were still around. They were all part of the police force in the United States, and almost all her aunts, uncles, grandfathers, cousins, etc, served in the force somehow. As a result, Lei is extremely proud of her heritage, and believes she gets her boldness and instinctive police dog traits from her family, which runs in her blood.
Lei knows nothing of her father, since she never met him. But she knows he was great as well, because the only thing her mother ever said about the father who was never there was "he was a very noble and great canine, and you should feel honored he is your father" and that was that.
The truth about Lei's father was such - he had been a rather well-known sibyl in his neck of the woods several decades back, and led a fairly normal life for a loner. When he fell in love with Alicia, Lei's mother, they soon decided to settle down and have a peaceful family. Alicia hadn't been pregnant for a few months when the Pareil, beginning their recruitment for sibyls to create the Tsin, came and snatched him away. He fought them at first, but when they threatened to kill his mate and unborn pups, he relented, going with them. He would never see his family again.
For years, he ( Donner ) worked with the Pareil Pack alongside D and several other sibyls, to create the Tsin. Finally, when the stone was about nearing completion, there revealed one kink in the works - in order for the final touches to be completed, there needed to be a sacrifice. For all these years that Donner worked with the Pareil, he had developed a bad psychological illness. He was often depressed about being dragged away from his family and never being able to see them again, and he knew he was helping to create something which would only be used for evil. As a result, when the time came to choose a sacrifice, he readily gave his life, for he no longer wanted to live.
And such, Donner became a 'hero' to the Pareil pack - without him, the Tsin never would have been finished without some unnecessary bickering about who was to die. When he sacrificed himself, the Tsin could finally be completed. Some of the more ignorant Pareil dogs looked to him with admiration for giving himself for their sake, some who knew how he really was looked to him with pity. And some still looked to him with a mixture of disgust and scorn for what he had done.
Of course, Lei knows nothing about this. All she knows is that she never knew her father. When she joins the Pareil, perhaps she'll find out what happened to him, whether it be the truth, or whether it be the twisted truth of the Pareil dogs.
When she and her brothers were six years old, their mother died suddenly. They think she contracted some sort of disease and withered away, but in reality she died slowly from depression. All these years she had longed for her mate who was never going to return ( she never found out what exactly happened to him either ), and had lived just long enough to ensure that her pups could live. Since then, Lei has been on her own. She lost track of her brothers some time back.
